THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR LEADERS IN BLUE AND GREY Leaders in Blue and Grey who led their troops into battle had an awesome responsibility to both care for their men, and lead them to victory. These leaders provided brilliant victories with the knowledge that they were often won at great human cost. A brilliant military strategist, Thomas J. Jackson and his Virginia brigade were nicknamed "Stonewall " for their stand against Union forces on Henry House hill, the first major Civil War Battle. In a 19th century example of American "Friendly Fire" Civil war Confederate General "Stonewall" Jackson died on May 10, 1863, of wounds inflicted by his own troops eight days earlier Hence "Blue on Blue"

`BROTHER AGAINST BROTHER` The Brother against Brother Series depicts the fighting men of the North and South engaged in mortal combat as well as acts of gentle compassion. These hand crafted miniatures artfully capture the human conflict throughout this war. After the war in 1867 The Ku Klux Klan was structured into the "Invisible Empire of the South," and General Nathan Bedford Forrest was appointed the first "Grand Wizard" Dressed in their well known white robes they whipped and killed any "Freedman" and their supporters they could find. In 1869 Forrest ordered its disbandment because of its excessive violence, but small segments still exist to this day,

REGIMENTS With the enemy only yards away, the regiment that could fire the faster and more accurately often won the day. The Union and Confederate soldiers would fight in two rank lines blazing away at each other until one side broke and ran. The courage and discipline displayed by both side was impressive.
