The Band of the Royal Marines wore a distinctive tunic which, coupled with their 

white Wolseley helmets, gave them a unique band dress within the British Forces. 

The R.M.L.I. amalgamated with the Royal Marine Artillery ( Blue Marines ) in 1923 

to form the Royal Marines. Some elements of the band uniform 

are retained in the full dress uniform of the Royal Marines today.
