Durnfords Last Stand.

Lt. Colonel Durnford and his light Horse held the attack on the right flank

at Isandwhana until his low ammunition drove them back. They re-established

a line in an attempt to hold the pass open for fugitives but were eventually cut down.

Durnford was found surrounded by his men and identified by the black silk sling

which supported his injured arm.
