After the war in 1867 The Ku Klux Klan was structured into the "Invisible Empire of the South," and General Nathan Bedford Forrest was appointed the first "Grand Wizard" Dressed in their well known white robes they whipped and killed any "Freedman" and their supporters they could find. In 1869 Forrest ordered its disbandment because of its excessive violence, but small segments still exist to this day,
