Unique amongst the Royal Bodyguards was the Gaekwar's guard artillery which comprised one silver gun and one gold gun (see 00266), the first carried on a gold plated carriage and limber, the second on silver plated. Each gun carrying the Gaekwar's personal standard was pulled by a pure white pair of water buffalo, caparisoned with gold and silver and was escorted by a gun crew dressed in a form of British Artillery uniform. The full crew consisted of a driver and six gunners. Shown here is the silver gun with a pair of buffalo in crimson and gold. The gold gun with buffalo in blue and silver caparison and add-on set of marching officer and four gunners can be seen on 00266.
