125th Napier Rifles
Presentation eight piece boxed set.
£53.50p.
Part of the Bombay Army, the 125th Regiment were given their name after General Napier's (later Lord Napier of Magdala) famous march from Zula to Magdala in the Burma War of 1891. They had become a rifle regiment in 1889, and were recruited largely from Moslems from the warlike tribes of the Punjab. Their previous existence had been relatively uneventful except for the expedition to Abyssinia in 1868.
Here, they are shown firing at will, the Officer pointing out targets. They will fit well into a North West frontier setting, with their dark, rifle-green blouse and scarlet piping contrasting with the normal drab of the Frontier Force. Together with the Queens guides, they comprise the start of a new, exciting series enabling you to recreate the wars and skirmishes of Afghan, Chitral and Malakand.
