14th Ludhianna Sikhs

Presentation Eight piece boxed set.

 £53.50p.

Lining the route of the procession through Delhi and forming a guard in the Amphitheatre of the Durbar were regiments from the British and Indian Armies.

The 14th Ludhanna Sikhs of the Bengal Army had won most of their battle honours on the Afghan borders and in the second Afghan War of 1878-81, taking part in the storming of the Ali Masjid. They were in action again on the Chitral campaign of 1897. In 1900 they formed part of the expedition to Peking to relieve the siege of European embassies during the Boxer rebellion.

This set of five privates, officer, corporal and bugler can be used either in the Delhi Durbar route lining for the elephant procession or in the new Amphitheatre guarding the dais or Saluting Base. Alternatively they will fit into a North West Frontier display.
